An easy cure for
the summertime blues...
June through September, horseback riding
is king at Coulter Lake. There are miles of trails throughout the
White River National Forest, which provide outstanding views
of mountains, valleys, lakes, and canyons.
The Rocky Mountains as your playground...
We offer scenic rides for novice riders through
more challenging rides for the more experienced rider. The "do's
and don'ts" of good horsemanship will be taught to all guests
to ensure the enjoyment and safety of every rider.
Guests can enjoy up to two rides per day with use of the same
horse throughout their stay. Beginning riders are offered lessons
on basic horse handling and operation. A wrangler leads each trail
ride, which is grouped according to skill level.
Special attention is paid to our children's riding program. Children
must be six or older to go out on our trail rides.
Hiking enthusiasts can step out of their cabin
and take off in any direction. Rifle Mountain Park offers a beautiful
canyon trail along Rifle Creek where you may catch a glimpse of
rock climbers, or take the Riparian Zone trail
down to Rifle Falls.
For the sport fisherman, we keep our beautiful spring-fed lake
well stocked with rainbow trout. There are small boats for your
use, or fish right from the banks.
We can provide basic fishing equipment, perfect for the kids and
beginners, or bring your own gear.
Stream fishing for rainbow and brook trout can be found in nearby
Rifle Creek (license is required).
