Accommodations
that are sure to please...
Coulter Lake is a small, intimate and rustic
ranch. This means no cell phones or e-mail, the perfect setting
to unwind from life's daily stress.
Enjoy your stay...
There are 6 cabins at Coulter Lake scattered among the aspen trees within an easy walk of our Lodge. The cabins all date from the 1930s and 40s and while rustic, are very comfortable. Each cabin has from 1 to 3 bedrooms, a sitting area where you can relax at the end of the day, a private bathroom with shower, and a front porch with incredible views of the lake and mountains. All but one cabin has a fireplace and all have heating systems as well.
Each cabin has a unique layout and can fit a variety of family or guest needs:
Brookview -- 1 bedroom with 1 king size bed
- Woodland -- 1 large room with 1 queen, 1 full & 1 twin
- Hilltop -- 2 bedrooms with 2 queens & 1 single (in main room)
- Aspen -- 3 bedrooms with 1 king, 3 queens & 1 single
- Lakeside -- 2 bedrooms with 1 queen, 2 twins & 1 single (in main room)
- Forest Haven -- 2 bedrooms with 2 queens & 2 twins
2 roll-away beds are available if needed.
All buildings are non-smoking although there are outside smoking areas available. The cabins have electricity but no air conditioning which is seldom needed at 8100 feet! Also note that there are no mini-fridges, coffee makers, or microwaves in the cabins.
Outdoor life is a terrific appetite booster...
At mealtime, everyone gathers at the Lodge for great home cooked meals. Lunches and dinners are announced by the dinner bell, usually with the help of one of our younger guests! Meals are served either inside the Lodge dining room or outdoors in one of our picnic areas.
Breakfasts are made to order while lunches and dinners are set menus and served family style. Our breakfast and dinner rides provide a fun way to see the mountains before enjoying your meals outside. Our staff create some incredible meals in dutch ovens which are cooked over hot coals.
Breakfasts might include our French toast or hot blueberry pancakes to get your day started right. Lunch might include enchiladas, chef salads, stuffed burgers, or pizza with all the side options. Dinners include barbeque ribs that fall off the bone, beef & vegy shishkabobs, pork tenderloins with an incredible cream sauce, and steaks you can cut with a fork!
Each evening there's a new dessert to tempt your sweet tooth. Meals are often tweeked for the kids as well to ensure that they are enjoying the meals as much as the adults.
All meals include a unique salad, vegetable, breads, and drinks. The wonderful lemonade, tea, and mountain spring water is always available as well.
In touch with nature...
One of the great aspects of Coulter Lake is we are remote. With no cell phone service or e-mail, guests can be reached any time via the ranch phone. Guests can use the lodge phone with a phone or credit card. Oh yes, there are no TV's in the lodge or the cabins, it's quite refreshing!
Coulter Lake uses solar panels and hydropower to generate most of our electricity. Propane generators back-up our electrical system. Our guests are encouraged to conserve electricity and water, which helps us sustain our environment. |
